Obama’s Peace in our time
The Geneva agreement calls for Iran to neutralize its stockpile of uranium enriched above the level needed for research purposes. It limits Iran’s production of centrifuges to enrich uranium to possibly weapons grade. Iran also agreed to stop construction of a heavy reactor which offers a way to produce a bomb. In return Iran will gain up to $7 billion in foreign earnings and resume trade in Oil and other goods. The agreement like with Hitler in Munich portends peace in our time. The reality is that it’s nothing like that, in fact quite the opposite is true.
Since all of the enforcement in the agreement is voluntary by Iran it’s somewhat one sided. Iran has gotten indirectly approval of its nuclear program by allowing enrichment at lower levels than weapons grade. Iran has and continues to swear to eliminate the state of Israel and has been behind or supported numerous terror attacks against the U.S. and our allies from Afghanistan and Iraq and others. We can’t afford to trust Iran without strict enforcement and compliance not supported by this agreement.
What this agreement did was to show the world that Iran has nuclear rights. By financially rewarding Iran without requiring total cessation of their nuclear program the U .S. has played President Obama, Secretary Kerry and our government for fools. By agreeing to a deal for the sake of getting a deal Obama has sold our country and Israel down the river. Congress may vote against the agreement but Obama will veto any legislation and he has enough democrats to uphold the administration. The President is desperate to deliver good news to a public who now gives him the lowest grades of any previous president.
The real problem for America is that President Obama and his administration will do serious and permanent damage to our national security by allowing Iran into the group of nuclear power nations along with North Korea and Pakistan. This agreement is a load of bull and the people are getting the shaft from our paper tiger president.
