NBC fires producer…dodges the law!

NBC News fired a producer who was involved in the production of a misleading segment about the Trayvon Martin case in Florida. The person was fired on Thursday and NBC declined to name the individual or make any further comment. The producer made what they are saying was a mistake in the editing of the George Zimmerman 911 tape in which the dispatch  911 responded to Zimmerman asking whether Martin was white, black or hispanic and Zimmerman responded ” I think he’s black” when the producer edited the tape they took out the fact that the dispatcher asked for Martin’s racial profile and made it appear that Zimmerman volunteered the racial information instead of responding to a question from the dispatcher.

This amounts to media malpractice and it is an outrage that NBC is allowed to simply fire a unamed producer to sweep this under the carpet. The actions by the NBC producer and perhaps others at NBC amount to race baiting incitement to violence of many across the country who were fed this bullcrap by NBC. To simply fire the producer without naming them or accepting any other further responsibility for inflaming this into a racial circus is abhorrent to many Americans.

I am calling on the FCC and the Justice department to fully investigate the race baiting in this case by NBC News with regard to the Trayvon Martin case. The job of the producer is to make sure that truthful information is being transmitted and not to specifically edit out the truth in order to facilitate a pre determined story that they wanted to produce in this case. It’s shocking and disgusting and many believe  illegal as well. After all both Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman deserve for all the facts to be known and NBC needs to clear it’s dirty smudged name that it has created for itself in this matter. Let’s have justice and make sure the NBC or all of those responsible are brought to justice!

About Commish Greg

I have had a life long love affair with the New York Yankees and baseball period. In my retirement I've discovered the hobby of sports game simulation through online gaming. I also have collected cards and memorabilia since I was 7 years old in 1961. I inherited from my uncle the collections starting from 1956 - 1960 and in 1961 I started my own collecting. I started an online league through Out Of The Park Development and their game OOTP16. The name of the league is the Alternate History Baseball League and it began in the 1954 baseball season when I and fifteen others held an inaugural draft and began the AHBL league in earnest. In my blog I will review the AHBL league and also mix some pop culture and historic events from real life. I hope you enjoy !
